You’ve watched the “Social Dilemma.” Now what? (includes video story)

The “Social Dilemma,” a Netflix documentary, exposes and analyzes how social media has more power and influence than you might think. Platforms may even know you better than you know yourself.

Do you wonder about the damage doom-scrolling and being on social media can do? Ixamar Palumbo, a social media specialist of the Latin Grammys and Miami influencer, said that balance is key to avoiding letting social media take over your life. 

Dr. Samantha Mackson, a mental health expert at South Miami Psychology Group, touched base on the psychological effects of social media. While you may not be fully aware, your mind is impacted by how you perceive and use social media, she says, also describing its triggers.
