We aren’t talking about your typical homemade cookies. New locations have taken these sweet and savory desserts to new heights, creating artistic beauties that all taste buds can enjoy, from those that burst with flavor in every bite to toppings never seen before.

South Florida has plenty of spots that deserve to make the list. These are establishments that should be highlighted not only for the taste of their product but also for their creativity and love of baking.

Night Owl Cookies made a splash when it burst onto the Miami dessert scene. This quickly growing shop is capturing the hearts of Miami locals with amazing cookies and desserts. They have locations at University Park near FIU, Wynwood, Miami Design District, North Miami and a Pembroke Pines one coming very soon. You can enjoy classics like cookies and cream for $3.25, and chocolate chip for $2.99. Or you can delight in their best-seller, the Dirty Diana, for $3.50; this is their signature chocolate dough stuffed with Nutella.

The shop offers different options varying from jumbo cupcakes to sliced cakes. MADD MUNCHIEZZ has cookies like the nookie cookie, a chocolate cookie with white chocolate chips, dressed in cookies and cream frosting and topped with Oreos, for $3.50. Another great option is the s’more-gasmic cookie for $3.50. They offer great deals, such as the cookie box, which includes three cookies for $9.95. For a small shop, these cookies pack a huge flavor.

Cookie Jar Miami is a hidden gem for the sweet-tooth aficionado. The Salty Caramel cookie is a splendid combination of salty and sweet flavors. Their sweets are priced at $4 each. The Jar also offers cannolis and brownies for around the same price. Cookie Jar Miami came to be in October 2019. The cookies are made on the spot, which provides patrons with the freshest possible product possible.

Midnight Cookies and Cream was founded by former bodybuilder, Jonathan Mordechai. The Westchester, North Miami, Hollywood, Boca Raton and other locations are franchised from Mordechai and deliver the delicious cookies he created. Midnight Cookies and Cream have a large assortment of flavors, from snickerdoodle to baklava. Their regular-sized cookies are priced from $3.75 to $5. These include their Taste The Rainbow, which is topped with Fruity Pebbles and a white chocolate layer mixed with white chocolate chips inside the cookie dough. Eating them warm is the best experience, as the gooeyness adds a wonderful texture.

With only an online presence, Get Stuff’d Cookies was founded in Miami by owner/baker Rebecca Bertrand. She started this business after not being satisfied with the selection of cookies available at stores. Get Stuff’d offers a variety of cookie flavors from guava cheesecake to traditional takes like chocolate chip. She said corn starch is added to her cookies, which helps with the consistency. These cookies are priced at $5 each to remain soft and chewy as you dig in. One of their most popular options is the brownie stuff’d cookie which comes with caramel, chocolate chips, and walnuts and, at the center, a fudgy chocolate brownie.
