Ticketmaster crashes during Taylor Swift’s pre-sale (includes video story)

Throughout the country, Taylor Swift’s fans experienced a sense of disappointment and desperation after attempting to get tickets for her upcoming tour. During the presale, the Ticketmaster website crashed, causing turmoil and questioning Ticketmaster’s reliability as the nation’s largest concert promoter.

Yesterday afternoon, Ticketmaster announced they had — at least temporarily — canceled the general sale for the tour.

Some say it may be part of a bigger issue. Several politicians have voiced their opinions on the matter, Minnesota Democratic Senator Amy Klobuchar said she has serious concerns about the company’s operations.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tweeted, “Daily reminder that Ticketmaster is a monopoly, it’s merger with LiveNation should never have been approved, and they need to be reigned in. Break them up.”

Ticketmaster released a statement saying, “There has been historically unprecedented demand with millions showing up.”
