The Night Garden show returns for the Christmas season (includes video story)

The Night Garden Experience brings the Fairchild Botanic Tropical Garden to life this holiday season by animating its rare tropical plants with holographic technology.

“You feel like you’re in the world of Avatar, Pandora like you’re going through an adventure,” said Daniel Wu, the garden’s director of operations.

The event is open to all ages every week from Wednesdays to Sundays, starting at 6 p.m., and will run until Jan. 8. However, on Christmas week The Night Garden will be open every day and will host a special New Year’s Eve celebration with DJs, specialty performers and fireworks.

Throughout the mile-long tour, visitors can find a misty rainbow forest, fairies, luminous butterflies and plants, kinetic sculptures a dancing ground, as well as an interactive talking tree.

Visitors typically stay for 60 to 90 minutes, where they can enjoy drinks, food trucks and a seating area to enjoy the illuminated garden. Tickets can be bought on their website and discounts are offered for students, seniors and military.
