Still I Run connects people who run for their mental health (includes video story)

Monday was World Mental Health Day, a yearly global celebration held to spread awareness and end the stigma around mental illness.

Six years ago, Sasha Wolff founded an online community called “Still I Run” to create a medium for mental health runners to connect. The non-profit hosts a virtual 5K race to encourage newcomers to start the journey of improving their mental health.

The Miami Chapter captain, Brenda Rivera, believes running is a great tool for those suffering from mental illness. She says it allows you to “forget about… every stress factor in your life and be able to do it for your mental health and overall well-being.”
