Ski Rixen USA offers winter camp (includes video story)

Quiet Waters is a 430-acre park in Deerfield Beach that is part of the Broward County Park system. There are several amenities that it offers visitors such as basketball courts, bike trails, a dog park and more. The park is perhaps best known for its cable water skiing attraction Ski Rixen USA.

First opened to the public in 1983, Ski Rixen USA is the premier water skiing facility in South Florida.It offers one-on-one instruction for visitors on the weekends from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Afterwards, they are open to the public until 6 p.m. It does not matter if you are a beginner who is just starting out or an experienced rider looking for new challenges.

The general manager of Ski Rixen USA, Allan Wlodarczyk, says the company is running a winter camp for riders ages 7 and up the week after Christmas and the first week of January to give kids the chance to learn.

One of the head lifeguards at Ski Rixen USA, Anthony Gocinski says, “The camp is super involved, a lot of kids, and a lot of responsibility. I am responsible for safety. It’s important and stressful, but it’s a lot of fun.”

Josh Barmak, a frequent rider and park visitor, says that Ski Rixen USA’s staff are some of the best around because they actually care about riding. It is not common for you to find operators or staff that care about riding.”

Ski Rixen USA offers wakeboarding, kneeboarding, cable skiing and more. With almost 40 years Ski Rixen USA has been a popular attraction at the park allowing for floridans who always wished to ski in the snow to live out their dreams the South Floridian style.

Carlos Carrillo is a senior at Florida International University majoring in digital broadcasting. After graduation Carlos hopes to pursue a career in TV and one day become a sports broadcaster or journalist.

Tania Jimenez is a senior majoring in communication with a concentration in digital broadcasting. She is interested in sports. After graduation, she would like to continue her career journey in the world of sports media.

Rolando Viera is a student at Florida International University with a major in Digital Communications and Media Studies. He wants to pursue the digital and interactive media track in hopes of furthering his passion for videography and artist management. Rolando hopes to manage multiple musicians in the future and is making connections in the industry now through music videos.
