Protestors gather against DeSantis’ migrant transportation (includes video story)

Protestors gathered in Downtown Doral Park yesterday to voice their outrage towards Governor Ron DeSantis’ recent transportation of 48 Venezuelan migrants to Martha’s Vineyard.

DeSantis has claimed responsibility for the act, calling it a favor for immigrants and the nation. Texas Sheriff Javier Salazar opened an investigation into DeSantis’s act, stating the migrants were misled and the transportation was unlawful. DeSantis now faces a federal class action lawsuit that was filed on behalf of the migrants.

Venezuelan American Caucus Executive Director, Adelys Ferro said, “He doesn’t care about basic human decency…just his political gain and to make his political show just because he wants to be a political nominee…give me break.”

As shipping out migrants is expected to continue, protestors urge Florida voters to head to the polls on November 8. They believe the solution to immigration issues will lie in the results of this year’s midterm elections — including that of Florida governor.
