President Biden warns democracy is at stake in this political season (includes video story)

Just days before the start of the political season on Labor Day, President Joe Biden gave a prime-time speech last night in Pennsylvania to warn Americans that the nation’s democracy is at stake.

“For a long time, we’ve told ourselves that American democracy is guaranteed, but it’s not,” said Biden. “We have to defend it, protect it, stand up for it, each and every one of us.”

Following threats made to federal law enforcement officials by some Republicans tied to Donald Trump, Biden called for the American people to unite and urged everyone to vote in November to ensure the nation’s progress.

“That’s why tonight I’m asking our nation to come together, unite behind the single purpose of defending our democracy, regardless of your ideology,” said Biden.
