Colin Powell, secretary of state and military leader, dies of COVID (includes video story)

General Colin Powell, former U.S. secretary of state and chairman of the joint chiefs of staff died on Monday.

Powell was the first African-American to hold these two positions

During a statement, his family said he died from complications due to COVID-19 even though he was vaccinated.

According to a spokeswoman, his immune system was compromised by multiple myeloma.

He leaves behind his wife and three children.
