Pembroke Pines hosts annual Patriot Day ceremony for 9/11 (includes video story)

The city of Pembroke Pines hosted it’s yearly Patriot day ceremony at the Veterans Memorial Park next to the Charles F. Dodge City Center.

The open-air gathering was held on a very sunny morning. Children, veterans and people from the community all gathered and commemorated the lives lost on September 11.

Children sang, adults cheered for first responders, and members of the armed forces performed. Community member and school teacher Ann-Marie Oudshoorn shared that she understands the event relates to a tragic event but is happy it can still bring people together.
