Miami Dade College opens new artificial intelligence center (includes video story)

On Tuesday, Miami-Dade College opened a new artificial intelligence center at the north campus.

The 13,000-square-foot area will support MDC’s growth as a leader in applied artificial intelligence.

MDC President Madeline Pumariega spoke about the advancements in the field by saying, ”The fast evolution of technology has increased the demand for trained AI professionals across virtually every industry. MDC is leading the way to fill that gap.”

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that 513,000 new jobs will be created in the artificial intelligence field by 2029. To ensure MDC students are experienced in the field, the college accumulated $5 million in grants to construct the center.
