LGBTQ+ artists shined during Miami Art Week at the seventh edition of Art Gaysel (includes video story)

Joining Miami Art Week festivities last week was Art Gaysel, also known as “Miami’s Queerest Art Fair.” Back in town for its seventh edition, Art Gaysel occupied Lincoln Road’s Hotel Gaythering for an LGBTQ-focused, multi-faceted event.

Over 30 artists of all styles and nationalities were given individual rooms and total creative freedom to set up their exhibits and shops. Each room provided different experiences with unique choices of lighting, sounds and aromas.

“I’m really excited about shows like this, that we don’t just have to wait for pride month to get curated into a show, said featured embroiderer Michael-Birch Pierce. “There are people that are committed to amplifying the voices of LGBTQ artists.”

Guests had the opportunity to speak and connect with the artists directly. Art Gaysel included a bar, music, and three floors of exhibits. It was an interactive event for all art junkies to enjoy.

If you’d like to learn more about the artists and their work, we have listed several of Art Gaysel’s featured artists below. Most of the pieces show intimacy and explicit content, so be sure to explore these links at your own discretion.
