Klarna and Afterpay gain popularity by helping students save money (includes video story)

The apps Klarna and Afterpay allow customers the option to split the full price of a purchase into four biweekly payments. The apps are quickly gaining popularity in stores and online.

“It really gives students a chance to build their credit and also afford things they couldn’t normally afford,” said college student Shamar Hobby-Lee. “It really gives me an opportunity to spread my money out in the right way.”

Younger generations are loving this payment option as it helps them keep up with their other bills.
