Inflation in Florida continues to harm families (includes video story)

As prices continue to rise, families are being priced out by high interest rates.

Karen Martin is a single mom raising two boys who makes less than 20 dollars per hour.

“I’m not making ends meet, I’m spending my savings,” said Martin. “I get paid tomorrow and already, my whole paycheck is spoken for.”

Now, 47% of Americans are blaming inflation for eroding their living standards. Prices in the Tampa area are up by 11.3% making it way above the national average and also making it hard to survive.

Danielle Tabera is a senior pursuing a degree in Broadcast Media and Mass Communications at Florida International University. She is planning on attending culinary school after receiving her Bachelor's degree in hopes of becoming a food journalist.
