Fort Lauderdale has seen massive growth in businesses over the past years, leading to more tourism and giving locals more to enjoy.
The reconstruction taking place at the historic International Swimming Hall of Fame Museum and Aquatic Complex on Fort Lauderdale Beach is expected to attract new visitors to Fort Lauderdale and deliver them with growing businesses nearby.
The nearby Hotel Maren opened in January and has become a popular spot, already holding the #2 spot in Fort Lauderdale on Trip Advisor.
“We have seen tremendous growth over the last decade in particular and people are still coming here in rather large numbers every day,” Fort Lauderdale Commissioner Steven Glassman said.
“Through the height of the COVID pandemic from last March to a few months ago, we still did pretty well. Of course, our travel and our leisure industry took a big hit, but that was what we saw all over the country and all over the world. But we sustained ourselves and that industry has come back relatively strongly in the last couple of months,” he added.
The reconstruction has made locals optimistic about the future.
