Freaky 4-Miler takes over South Beach (includes video story)

About 1800 runners, many dressed in costume, participated Saturday in the Halloween Half Marathon & Freaky 4-Miler Run on South Beach.

Runners were dressed as superheroes, fairies and even big babies.

The winners of the half marathon were Nick Borowsky on the men’s side, who finished in 1 hour and 22 minutes and Gabby Schreffler, who completed the 13.1-mile course in 1 hour and 31 minutes.

Runner Nick Ramos said, “I love Halloween and I’ve been getting more into exercise and fitness, so I figured this was a good way to combine the two and have a good time”.

It was the 12th running of the race, which started and finished in South Pointe Park.
