FIU’s electronic dance concert, Summer fest, returns after two years (includes video story)

The bass is back at FIU’s main campus starting Thursday evening.

Hosted by Campus Life, Florida International University’s Summer Fest is an annual electronic dance concert, but it was forced to skip both the 2020 and 2021 events because of the pandemic. Employees with Campus Life say to expect the show to be better than ever in its return to the Modesto A. Maidique Campus.

“This is one of our greatest events that we have,” said Jose Toscano from FIU Campus Life. “The largest programming event that we have for our students.”

The event starts at 7:00 p.m. at MMC Lot 5. The gates open at 6:30 p.m. for those who want to be right up in the action. You should leave bags at home, but if you must bring one, it should be a clear bag that is 12 by 6 by 12 inches or smaller. You can also have a clutch or small purse that is no bigger than 6 ½ inches by 4 ½ inches.

No ticket, no problem for 2022 FIU students. They get in free with their One Card. College students 18 and up who do not go to FIU need to buy at ticket online.
