FIU celebrates The Uncaging for Homecoming (includes video story)

FIU celebrated homecoming on Thursday with the annual Uncaging event. There was free food, rides and the long-time tradition Trial of the Torch.

This pep rally-style event was one for the ages. It started with carnival games and t-shirt tosses. Greek life and campus engagement also had tables giving away goodies and flyers to promote their affiliations.

The homecoming duchess and duke were announced while the king and queen will be announced at the game on Saturday at 7 p.m.

In the evening, the Trial of the Torch began with a student leading FIU staff and students to light the torch while the band played high-spirited music.

The special occasion ended with fireworks that lit up the night sky. Another successful year of FIU’s The Uncaging brought out panther pride in all students.
