FBI director warns TikTok users of national security threat (includes video story)

There has been speculation that TikTok has been stealing private information. The Chinese government, which owns the social media app, is now at the center of a national debate on what is the best way to protect people’s privacy.

South Dakota has prohibited downloading of the app on government devices and the idea of Apple and Google taking TikTok out of their app stores has been pondered.

FBI Director Christopher Wray says: “The Chinese government has shown a willingness to steal Americans data on a scale that dwarfs any other.”

With so much at risk, officials want action to be taken to protect the information and privacy of Americans. It is recommended to think twice before downloading the app on your phone.
