The New York Times Student Journalism Institute is a program that is offered to student members (or December or May graduates) of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists or the National Association of Black Journalists. Students at a historically black college or university (or December or May graduates) are also eligible. The next Institute will be held next year from May 18 to June 2. During the program, students will be supervised by reporters and editors from The New York Times. Opportunities for students include reporting, copy editing, still photography, web production, newspaper page design, video journalism and graphics.
There is no cost to attend. Students are provided with room and board as well as some costs, including transportation to and from the New York City.
