The Doral Trolley resumed operations last week after weeks of having been shut down due to COVID-19, and the number of riders was substantial.
“The trolley has not been operating for the past three weeks, ” said Doral City Manager Albert Childress. “We just started up again this past Monday, May 4.”
As several states nationwide began to reopen, life itself seems to be returning to some sense of normalcy.
As indicated by the chart above, numbers have been picking up again as more people take the trolley for basic transportation needs.
As SFMN reported last month, the numbers of riders had dramatically dropped before the shutdown.
In order to prevent the spread of the virus, trolley workers will continue to clean the seats after every few stops. Riders will also be encouraged to wear masks.
Miami-Dade and Broward County will continue to be on state lockdown until further notice. Metro buses have run through the pandemic, but routes have been cut and access severely limited since early April.
