Hamlin flown to Buffalo medical center to continue recovery (includes video story)

Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin is now out of the Cincinnati hospital where he was taken after sustaining a life-threatening hit in last week’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals. His condition has drastically improved in the past few days so he was flown to a medical center in Buffalo to continue treatment.

“Damar Hamlin has met a number of key milestones on his journey to recovery — all to get him to this point that he could be safely returned to Buffalo,” said Dr. Knight IV.

The 24 year-old safety tweeted “happy to be back in Buffalo.” He also released a heartfelt message thanking NFL fans for supporting him during this trying time.

“It’s clear that he continues to move and take steps in a positive direction here,” said Bills head coach Sean McDermott.

His positive progress helped fuel the Bills win over their division rival, New England Patriots. The Bills started the game with an opening kickoff touchdown.

The Bills look to Hamlin for inspiration in this Sunday’s wild card matchup against the Miami Dolphins.
