BTS fans celebrate the Kpop group at Line Friends pop-up in Miami (includes video story)

This weekend the Line Friends company made a stop in Miami for the first time ever. Visitors lined up from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. to earn free gifts and take pictures of BTS’ handprint and autograph displays.

Line Friends started as characters for a South Korean messenger app and it evolved into a global creative studio. K-pop group BTS created their own original BT21 characters that are popular among fans of the group.

They held the event at The Shops at Midtown Miami, where they displayed the company’s touring truck and merchandise.

“I came to this pop-up event because it’s the first BTS event that’s been here in Miami,” said Leslie Carcamo, who visited the event.

Visitors who ordered merchandise prior to the event were eligible to win special gifts, which were organized into tiers of spending. Buying over $200, for example, won a turntable. Other gifts included an action camera, an exclusive tour hat and a tote bag.

No one left empty handed, though. All guests who visited were given BT21 character gift bags, a coupon and a phone holder.

“We have a heart-to-heart connection with the merch and Line Friends and so we can feel [a connection] with BTS [too],” said Mikasa Rosas, who visited the event and is a fan of K-pop group BTS.
