Americans don’t want Biden or Trump in 2024 (includes video story)

Recent polls have indicated that a majority of Americans from both sides of the political aisle want neither Biden nor Trump to be their party’s candidate for the 2024 presidential election.

ABC News and the Washington Post reported that 56% of Democrats want someone other than Joe Biden as the Democratic nominee, with only 35% in favor of Biden. The same poll found that Republicans are split on if they want Trump as their 2024 nominee at 47% to 46%.

During an interview with SFMN, Juanita Wilcox, a registered independent, weighed in on why she feels both Biden and Trump may not be the best candidates for the 2024 election: “I think the country is extremely polarized and I think people want to come together in the middle…if either one of them were there, I don’t think either one of them would win. I think they’re both kind of polarizing right now.”

While neither Biden nor Trump have officially announced if they plan to run again, it is expected for Trump to announce his campaign soon. Biden recently stated that it is too early to make that decision.
