Biden promises federal aid to rebuild West coast after Hurricane Ian (includes video story)

President Biden and the first lady flew to Fort Meyers yesterday to view the devastation caused by Hurricane Ian.

In a speech, he stated, “It’s going to take a lot of time, not weeks or months, it’s going to take years for everything to get squared again.”

Biden promised that federal aid will be available in Florida for the long haul, insisting the recovery process will be a top priority until it is complete. Gov. Ron DeSantis also made an appearance, stating that efforts are underway to restore power and fix the destroyed Sanibel Island Bridge.

The residents of Fort Myers, however, remain in a state of disbelief over the community’s demolition. A Sanibel Island resident stated, “I…I’m.. I’m blown away.”
