The Athlete

This quiet beach on Virginia Key is the ideal spot to spend a day in the sun with your sporty valentine. Reserve a tandem kayak starting at $35 an hour, or paddleboard starting at $30 an hour, and enjoy free park admission with reservations. Take in the lush greenery, clean water and beautiful views. Maybe even check out the enormous sandcastle on the property. Afterward, pack up and cross the island to Virginia Key Beach where you can put out a blanket, set up a picnic and watch the sun go down on the water.
