Art Basel concludes at the Wynwood Walls (includes video story)

The largest art event in South Florida, Miami Art Week, ended Sunday after the work of more than 200 galleries was exhibited.

Miami Art Week, and particularly Art Basel might have seemed overwhelming and pricey. But in Wynwood, visitors got a taste of inspiring art just by wandering the streets.

The Wynwood Walls, with its more than 50 breathtaking contemporary murals, is regarded as one of the largest outdoor street art museums in the country. And this week saw the addition of nine previously unseen murals, so it’s still expanding.

For this event, thousands of international artists and art enthusiasts traveled from all over the world.

“I have seen this grow in the last seven to eight years, and the quality of the artists and the diversity of all the artists is unbelievable,” said Ted Serure, who added that he loves the arts.
