The American Heart Association Broward Heart Walk took place Sunday, March 12 at Nova Southeastern University to raise heart disease and stroke awareness.
Thousands of walkers and several organizations raised over $1.2 million dollars for life-saving science.
Walkers united during the 3.5-mile walk honoring heart disease and stroke survivors.
Participating vendors displayed goat yoga, CPR lessons and information on heart disease and stroke prevention.
“The Heart Walk is continuing to be so productive in the community that people are becoming more and more aware of heart disease and stroke,” said Zipporah Hayes, a mother who began participating in the event after her son was diagnosed with a heart murmur 10 years ago.
