Zoo Miami open once again

The pandemic forced many entertainment venues to close, including Zoo Miami. But now the zoo is operating with normal hours.

Things have changed though. Guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control require the park to operate at half capacity. Social distancing and face masks are required at all times. Hand-sanitizer dispensers are available throughout the park.

In order to reduce physical contact, guests are required to make online reservations on ShopZooMiami before attending.

Zoo Miami supervisor Jason Rivas states that staff members are doing the best they can so everyone can be safe. The new guidelines ensure there are hand sanitizing stations and social distancing throughout the park including in restrooms lines and food areas.

“Keep everyone as safe as possible and trying to stay within the county’s guidelines,” Rivas said, “down to having even social distance in every single aspect of the park.”

Although some areas of the park are still closed, visitor Ricardo Vasquez enjoyed his time even with safety precautions.

“There are a little bit fewer people, but the animals are all here,” Vasquez said. “We are having a great time with the family.”

Guests and their families can continue accessing outdoor exhibits and animal shows. You can find more information on the Zoo Miami page.
