Thanks to benefactor Lee Caplin, FIU launches new Immersive Studio for Altered Reality (includes video story)

A ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new Immersive Studio for Altered Reality (iStar) facility took place Wednesday on Florida International University’s Biscayne Bay campus.

The space includes a small computer lab equipped with software for XR development, a 180-degree theater, and faculty offices sponsored by the entrepreneur Lee Caplin.

FIU is one of the first institutions of higher learning to offer this technology. It will allow students to formulate, develop and execute digital-first strategies in multiple ways.
