Teatro 8 reopens with comedy “La que se va armar”

After a long year of shutdown, people are fascinated by a theater located in tittle Havana called Teatro 8, which has reopened its doors with a comedy show called “La que se va armar.”

The writer of this show is the actress and journalist Nuria Ferrer,  who is also one of the characters in the comedy.

“I started to write this show in March during the pandemic,” said Ferrer. “They locked us down and I said, finally, I have the time to write a long story.”

The theater is currently following all the CDC guidelines to take care of the security of the people and actresses. It is running at 50% of capacity in order to maintain social distancing. The use of masks is mandatory during the play, and the people from the theater are taking the temperature of each guest at the entry.

A breath of fresh air is what all the actors felt after being able to be back on stage. “I think we all felt like lions in a cage. We really wanted to be together and feel the warmth of the public,” said Queca Gordillo one of the actresses and producers of the show.

The show was at its new full capacity and all the tickets were sold out, so they had to open more show days to satisfy the demand.
