South Florida Access: Hot Minute, Euphoric Emporium, Night to Shine and Jacob Sanchez

In this season’s second episode, South Florida Access kicks off with “The Hot Minute.” Andrea Igliozzi and Bianca Marcof present their take on this week’s hot topics, including Sophie Turner’s rumored pregnancy with Joe Jonas, Bernie Sanders’ New Hampshire primary win, Jussie Smollett’s new charges over his alleged assault last year and the internet’s viral #BroomChallenge, where users balance brooms.

Marcof also covers the Euphoric Emporium, a pop-up museum made up of shipping containers. Immersive art installations serve as backdrops that are sure to flood any social feed with picture-perfect shots.

Varsha Dorval reports on the Tim Tebow Foundation’s annual Night to Shine event, a special needs prom night experience. She highlights the hair and makeup stations, catered dinner, karaoke and the most highly anticipated moment of the night – the crowning of prom king and queen.

Finishing off the episode, Jay Valle interviews special guest Jacob Sanchez, a well-known cosmetic surgeon. Sanchez shares his journey on becoming one of the top plastic surgeons in the U.S. and overcoming hardships to get to where he is now. He also provides his perspective on the cosmetic industry here in South Florida.

Viharachard Dorval is a senior at FIU majoring in communications. She was born in Miami and has always had a passion for creative writing and media production. She hopes to one day have a successful career in television and cinematography.
