Senate may vote on Roe v. Wade (includes video story)

The battle over abortion rights has reached the floor of the U.S. Senate.

A draft opinion that would overturn the court’s 1973 finding in Roe vs Wade that made abortion legal in many cases was leaked last week.

So Senate majority leader Chuck Schumer announced Sunday he will put a new bill to codify the Roe decision to a vote later this week.

Democrats are hoping they can preserve abortion rights. And polls suggest most Americans agree.
