Out of the Darkness walk lights up FIU (includes video story)

The Out of the Darkness Walk is held every year in various universities to raise awareness about suicide.

This year FIU’s main campus was chosen to support this cause and organize a two-mile walk. The aim is to publicize the fact that suicide is among the leading causes of death in the country and to provide some help.

Faculty, students and alumni were present on Saturday and wore beads of different colors to represent the causes they were supporting.

The main message of the walk was that people should seek help when needed and reach out to the services FIU offers.
