Miami Dolphins could upset the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday

The Miami Dolphins (1-2) will face off against the Seattle Seahawks (3-0) on Sunday, October 4, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. at Hard Rock Stadium.

The Fins come into the game against the Seahawks after getting their first win against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 3. They finally showed some dominance on the offensive side and are now in a prime position to show their true dominance and beat down a Jaguars team that many thought would be #TankingForTrevor (Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence) in 2020.

The Seahawks will be a tough matchup for the Fins as star QB Russell Wilson has been lights out for the first three games of the season. He is already a player in the NFL MVP race and might even be in the lead for the award. He is dangerous both in and outside of the pocket and even the poor offensive line in Seattle doesn’t hold him back.

So how do the Fins’ have a chance? The “Legion of Boom” — the team’s defensive backfield — is no longer together in Seattle thus making the defense very average. They traded for safety Jamal Adams from the New York Jets during the offseason, however, he isn’t a coverage safety. The Hawks need help at corner and it has shown in the games thus far this season.

The Fins are going to want to attack the Seahawk’s corners, then take advantage of the opportunity to run the ball down the throats of their defense. The key for the Fins? Contain Russ and hold the Hawks receivers to a good, not great, game.

The Hawks wide receivers have been having great games with the likes of D.K. Metcalf, Tyler Lockett and, at times, Freddie Swain. This has caused headaches for the three teams the Hawks have faced this season.

Prediction: Dolphins 24 – 21 Seahawks

Yes, a win. The prediction is a win, though it remains to be seen how the Fins can contain Russ. Ultimately, the Dolphins are a better team than last season and a much better than  the 2016 team that almost beat the Hawks (who were more solid defensively at the time).

If the Dolphins can attack the Hawks defense, a win should be possible.
