Knaus Berry Farms has reopened, and those cinnamon rolls smell amazing (includes video story)

Knaus Berry Farms is a family-owned and operated establishment in Homestead. It has been around since 1956 when owners began growing strawberries. Like many businesses, it was powerfully affected by the coronavirus.

Knaus Berry is a local favorite and their cinnamon rolls make them worth the drive, according to a visitor. The family decided to reopen for the season with new protocols. Face masks became a requirement for visitors, even outdoors. The bakery menu was limited to avoid long lines, and people were asked to remain six feet from each other.

Overall, the Redland farm is thriving, although it had been closed for a time after the pandemic shutdown began in March. The family-owned farm usually operates from late October until the third week of April, meaning they had the whole summer to prepare.

Owner Thomas Blocher mentioned that now that people are more aware of COVID-19 and all it entails, including how to remain safe, so they felt okay opening up. Though they are still unsure if the popular Upick strawberries and tomatoes will happen this season, they are presently thinking it over.
