Johnny Depp and Amber Heard were both libeled, jury finds. (includes video story)

After six weeks of testimony in a defamation trial, a jury has found actors Amber Heard and Johnny Depp were both libeled.

Depp sued Heard for $50 million in damages over a 2018 essay published in The Washington Post, where Heard called herself a “public figure representing domestic abuse.” Heard countersued Depp for $100 million.

The trial was held in suburban Virginia. The jury awarded significantly more damages to Depp.

Jurors found that Depp should receive $15 million in compensatory and punitive damages. They awarded $2 million in compensatory damages to Heard, but nothing in punitive damages.
