Gabby Petito was strangled, coroner rules (includes video story)

Gaby Petito, the 22-year-old woman found dead in a Wyoming park a month ago, died by strangulation.

Her death was declared a homicide by Teton County coroner Brent Blue in the newly published autopsy results of Petito.

The report is vague but states the body was out in the wilderness before it was examined.

After an extensive search, Petito’s remains were found on September 19, in Wyoming’s Bridger-Teton National Forest.

Moab police stopped the couple during their trip to Utah in mid-August after a 911 caller told dispatchers he saw a man hitting a woman.

A month later, investigators continue to search for Brian Laundrie, Petito’s fiancé, who disappeared after he became a person of interest in the case.
