Funding art during the pandemic isn’t easy in Miami

Like almost every other enterprise in Miami, art organizations are trying to manage between the lack of funding and the wellbeing of artists. 

Michael Spring, director of the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs, touched base on the importance of artists, as well as the hardships they have recently faced. He highlighted how many artists suffered through canceled exhibitions where they might have sold their artwork. 

President and CEO of the Art & Business Council of Miami Laura Bruney discussed the financial uncertainty. For Bruney, going through these challenging times has created the opportunity to analyze and reevaluate a variety of things.
