FIU Chaplin School of Hospitality presents bartender robot Cecilia (includes video story)

Meet Cecilia, the new bartender who makes great cocktails and is a robot created by Florida International University’s Chaplin School of Hospitality. She’s educating students about what’s next in restaurants and bars regarding technology.

Cecilia is designed to help with hiring problems due to the shortage of personnel. She can learn the most popular cocktails and discard those on the menu that customers don’t like. She can also answer questions and make some pretty good jokes.

This upcoming weekend, Cecilia will be launched at the South Beach Wine and Food Festival. They expect her to be very popular and will be serving award-winning cocktails on the beach.

The festival will be celebrating 21 years during its four-day festival and will be showcasing famous chefs, culinary personalities and wine-and-spirits producers. So far, the festival has contributed $31.8 million to FIU.

If you want to enjoy all of the events, be ready to celebrate this February 24 to 27!
