Facebook whistle-blower Frances Haugen testifies before Congress (includes video)

Whistleblower Frances Haugen revealed thousands of pages of internal research and papers, showing Facebook was aware of several issues created by its apps, including Instagram’s potential toxic impact on teenage girls.

After a massive outage, Facebook, Whatsapp, and Instagram were unavailable for more than six hours.

The former Facebook product manager accused the company of pushing harmful content on young users. Haugen requested a congressional inspection.

Facebook denied Haugen’s claims in a written statement, saying they disagree with her characterization of the issues she testified about.
